After 10 Days of Organic Eating

Written by | Ecology, Health, Lifestyle

In a study commissioned by Greenpeace, two Japanese families agreed to eat an exclusively organic diet for 10 days. In less than two weeks, their bodies were pesticide-free. Urine samples were collected before and after the study to observe the different pesticide levels present in the participants’ bodies. The children demonstrated the most significant reduction in pesticides, having started with much higher levels than their parents. As explained by Greenpeace Japan, “A child’s developing brain is also more susceptible to neurotoxicants, and the dose of pesticides per body weight is likely to be higher in children due to their small size.” Although the study was not carried out on a large scale, it’s a good place to start for demonstrating the health benefits of organic products.
